I am a fourth generation wood-worker. From the time I can remember, I was handing my father his tools. I spent most of my adult life working for a major yacht company, Hatteras Yachts. For most of those years I was manger of Quality Assurance. I maintained a wood-working shop as a hobby and to relax myself after wearing a tie for eight hours.
In the early 90's, I went into business for myself and chose to pursue restoring antique furniture.
About three years ago I made my first humidor for a friend. He ordered six more and by word of mouth I was swamped with requests for custom, one-of-a-kind humidors. I have made over three hundred humidors with none being the same. I sign and date each one and never make another one like it. I work with over thirty different types of domestic and exotic hardwoods.
I am a one man shop and everything is built, finished and shipped by me. I have added jewelry chests, silver chests, gun display cases, etc. to my line.
One of my most enjoyable things to do is design and build custom furniture. I have built many pieces; dining room, bedroom, display, etc.
I have always lived in North Carolina and love this state. I spent two wonderful years with Uncle Sam and he was kind enough to let me visit and see Vietnam; that was in 1967-68, the good ole years.
