It was almost by accident that Maureen discovered ceramic art. A well equipped studio was empty in the late afternoons at the college where she taught psychology. Private lessons got her started and it was not long before she had a studio built in her home. There she began a line a ceramic jewelry. Fascinated with what was going on in the studio, Rebecca, her daughter, began helping. What characterized their work almost from the beginning was a delicate yet exquisite quality in its construction. In spite of an exceedingly graceful appearance it was very durable. Many thought they were looking at crafted metal and were surprised to find it to be clay, somewhat lighter in weight and comfortable to wear.
In 1983, Maureen began selling her work in galleries and by 1995, she devoted herself entirely to creating pottery and jewelry. After attending college and then working in Japan, Rebecca rejoined the company.
Now a closely-knit mother-daughter team, the two women create their romantic, elegant jewelry line that entices women of all ages. To wear a piece of Worth jewelry is to enjoy, appreciate, and delight in its beauty year round.
