Susan Loy of Literary Calligraphy

Susan Loy's secluded studio is surrounded by rolling pastures, forests, and gardens in Bedford County, Virginia. Her Literary Calligraphy® art is part of the permanent art collection of the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC and the Emily Dickinson collection of the Jones Library in Amherst, Massachusetts. She recently served as "Artist -on-the-Lawn" for the White House Easter Egg Roll.

With an American Studies degree from Miami University and graduate coursework in art history, literature, and philosophy at Ohio State, Susan approaches her art from a truly multidimensional perspective. Her interplay of textural and decorative ideas is unique.
