Wendy & Jay Jensen

For the past 18 years we have been working in wood. Our DeepSpring collapsible baskets unite our woodworking skills with our earlier interests in ceramics. The functionality brought over from our "pottery" days gratifies our basic need for order in our life and work. The baskets have a universal quality that transcends time, a tying together of a folk art concept to contemporary.

DeepSpring is nestled in the picturesque Potomac River Valley, surrounded by the high mountains of the Monongahela National Forest. The domestic wood species we use are harvested and kiln dried locally. The name DeepSpring is derived from a locally famous spring. This still prolific spring is reputed to have been used by both Northern and Southern soldiers during the Civil War.
