Gary and Kathy Griffin
Over 60 years ago, during the dark days of the Depression, a farmer named Eli Griffin searched for a way to help support his family. Determined to be self-sufficient, he taught himself to weave, choosing to use sock ends (remnents from finished socks) since this material was being discarded. He found that it was more durable -- and beautiful -- than rag weaving.

Gary Griffin is a fourth generation member of the family, and he became involved with electric looms producing afghans, which evolved into afghan wearables. The first pullovers made from afghans were introduced in 1992. While the pullovers are still popular, vests and jackets have been added to the line.

Gary is the sales manager and travels constantly. We have been a part of the gift market circuit since purchasing the business and continue to do shows throughout the United States. We have showrooms in Atlanta, GA, at the Americas Mart.

Kathy is the design and product development coordinator. With an eye for fashion, color, and style, she designs custom patterns, lays out pattern pieces, and develops new styles for the Sugar Street line. We have done custom pieces for Wild Wings Catalog and Practicon (a dental supply catalog).

Sugar Street Weavers continues to be a family operated business, making their products in the USA and committed to innovative designs, quality products at affordable prices and making customer satisfaction and service a top priority.
