Museums & Historical Sites

Manassas Museum

Devoted to the regional history of the Northern Virginia Piedmont region. You can view two videos that depict Manassas during the Civil War - and the history of the railroad in that region.
Open 10:00am - 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday. Adults $3.00, Children $2.00

Manassas National Battlefield
About six miles north of the Town of Manassas on Route 234
Where the Battle of Manassas (Battle of Bull Run) was fought during the Civil War. Has a small museum that will orient you to the layout of the battlefield. You can see it from your car, or you can walk.

Manassas Vistors Center
Located in the newly renovated Train Depot (9431 West Street) in Historic Old Town Manassas (703) 361-6599. The Manassas Visitor's Center has maps of architextural and walking/driving tours of the Old Town section, as well as guides to the many antique and specialty shops.

Manassas Volunteer Fire Company Museum

Quantico Marine Corps Air and Ground Museum
(703) 784-2606
Consists of three building built in the early 1930's. The first building houses exhibits of Marine Corps air and ground equipment covering 1900 to 1940. The second building covers 1940 to 1950, with an emphasis on aircraft and other support equipment used in Worls War II. The third building covers 1950 to 1953, which was the Korean War. No admission is charged.

Sully Plantation
In Herndon (703) 437-1794
Built in 1794 by Richard Bland Lee, Northern Virginia's first Congressman. The House was furnished during the Federal Period. Tours of the house take place on the hour and tours of the outbuildings on the half hour.
