About Candiss

Candiss Cole has been a designer for over 25 years. She has traveled extensively and continues to stay on the cutting edge of fashion and fabric design. Her studio is located in Sedona Arizona where she lives with her two Labrador retrievers and a black cat.

Within the past few years she has received numerous national awards for her designs and was overwhelmingly received in November of 2002 on the international runway in England. Her Studio is one of the few design houses that continue to dye and weave all of their fabrics by hand. It is also the only Atelier in the world that handweaves Ikat-Shibori.

These techniques, combined for the first time in handwoven, take the silk through multiple surface manipulations and dye processes to create a fabric unique to the world. She received a 2002 and 2003 National Niche Award for her new work. Candiss' goal is to bring a contemporary look to ancient textile traditions, bridging the gap between couture and wearable art.
