Rick has been involved in photography for over 30 years. Starting out shooting weddings, proms, and baby portraits. In 1983 after returning from a vacation in Ireland, Rick showed some travel photographs to a friend who was involved with the local Baltimore Irish Festival. At his friends suggestion, Rick and his wife Kathie displayed his photographs at the festival and sold color notecards. As fate would have it, the customers were more interested in buying the display photographs than the notecards so it was decided that larger images were the way to go. Rick's first Sugarloaf show was in 1985 and since then has been a regular exhibitor. His work is carried in over 175 shops and galleries throughout the United States and Canada and counts among his customers such diverse personalities as Seamus Heaney, Noble Prize winner in literature; Father Andrew Greeley, professor and writer; Billy Joel, musician; and President and Mrs. William Clinton.
